FIVE REASONS CHIEFS WILL BEAT THE JAGUARS
NUMBER 2 – WHERE’S THE OFFENSE?
For every comment you can find about how great the Jacksonville defense is, you could find one about how average the offense has been. The Jags have relied heavily on their strong defense, while scoring just 22 points per game, ranking, fittingly, 22nd in the league. Two teams in the AFC South alone sit ahead of Jacksonville — Indianapolis (23.6) and Houston (24.0).
To make matters worse, the team’s leading rusher a year ago, Leonard Fournette, is already ruled out for the game, according to Brooke Pryor of the Kansas City Star, after aggravating a hamstring injury in last week’s 31-12 victory over the New York Jets.

That means veteran T.J. Yeldon will lead the rushing attack. The fourth-year back has had his moments, but is averaging a modest 4.1 yards per carry on 410 career attempts, and his six career rushing touchdowns are three less than Fournette had in his rookie season last year.
Quarterback Blake Bortles is one of the more polarizing signal callers in the league, having completed just 59.5 percent of his passes over the past four seasons while throwing 97 touchdowns and a whopping 67 interceptions. However, he was one quarter away from leading his young team to the Super Bowl a year ago.

In wins this season against the Patriots and New York Jets, Bortles has thrown for over 600 yards and six of his seven touchdowns. However, he amassed just 176 yards in a narrow-opening season win against the Giants, and 155 yards and no touchdowns in an inexplicable home loss to the Tennessee Titans in Week 3.
He is probably salivating at the thought of playing the NFL’s worst-ranked defense, but the Chiefs must be equally as glad to line up against a below average quarterback after seeing the likes of future Hall of Famers Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers, along with budding star Jimmy Garoppolo of San Francisco this season.
In a matchup of quarterbacks, Kansas City has a huge advantage, and it will be one reason they walk away victorious.
