FIVE REASONS CHIEFS WILL BEAT THE JAGUARS
NUMBER 4 – MORE MAHOMES!
Speaking of Patrick Mahomes, there is no reason to think he will be slowing down any time soon. Okay, maybe one reason.
The Jacksonville defense is hands down the best in the NFL, ranking first in points (14.0) , total yards (259.2) and passing yards (164.2) allowed per game.
Concern for the Chiefs? Yes. Doom for the Chiefs? Of course not.
In their one road game this season, the Jags allowed 224 passing yards to Eli Manning, nearly 60 yards above their season average. And let’s face it, an aging brother of a Papa John’s spokesman is no Mahomes.
The weapons Mahomes possess on offense are like none Jacksonville has faced this year.
- Running back Kareem Hunt — Third in the AFC in rushing yards with 289, to go along with four total touchdowns and 348 yards from scrimmage.
- Tight end Travis Kelce — Third in the AFC in tight end receiving yards with 307 and three receiving touchdowns.
- Receiver Tyreek Hill — Third in the AFC in receiving yards with 364 and tied with Kelce for a team-high three receiving touchdowns.
Throw in the fact Hill is one of the fastest players in the NFL, multiple role players are also involved in the offense and an already uncanny leadership skill set from Mahomes and you have the recipe for an offensive explosion any given Sunday.
