The Kansas City Chiefs host the Jacksonville Jaguars at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday and their 4-0 record isn’t the only reason to think they will win.

Kansas City has many things on its side during this matchup, despite playing one of the toughest defense in the NFL. When the Kansas City Chiefs kickoff their matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars at noon central time Sunday, there will be plenty of optimism from fans that they can improve their record to 5-0.

The Chiefs, who with a win would start the season with five wins in consecutive years, are playing in just their second home game of the season. It’s against a formidable foe in a Jaguars squad that reached the AFC Championship game a season ago, but Kansas City should put more pressure on the Jaguars this weekend than they will face from Jacksonville.

Here are five reasons the Chiefs will walk away 5-0 after this weekend and be the team to beat in the AFC.

NUMBER 5 – AWESOME AT ARROWHEAD

Just because Arrowhead Stadium hasn’t been kind to the Chiefs in the playoffs doesn’t mean it hasn’t been a safe haven during the regular season. Kansas City is 29-10 at home since Andy Reid became head coach, including a 38-27 victory against the San Francisco 49ers in week three, the only game played in front of its fans this season.

A near .750 winning percentage doesn’t mean Kansas City is unbeatable at home — even the New England Patriots have lost six home games during that same span — but it still means three out of every four visitors to the 80,000-seat Arrowhead Stadium leave unhappy.

Every Chiefs fan knows about setting the Guinness world record for loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium against the Patriots in 2014, and don’t think the faithful Sunday won’t at least approach the 142.2 decibel level they did that fateful September night against Tom Brady‘s Bunch.

But a home game is more than the noise.

Budding star quarterback Patrick Mahomes shined in his first career home game against the 49ers — throwing for 314 yards and three scores — and every indication in his young career shows he loves to play in the spotlight.

The spotlight is his Sunday, and look for him and the Chiefs to get the offense clicking and make the home crowd proud.
