Mizzou Football: Five things to watch vs South Carolina Gamecocks
FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS SOUTH CAROLINA
NUMBER 2 – GAMECOCKS CAN STOP THE PASS THOUGH
South Carolina might not have been good at stopping the run, but they limited Kentucky’s quarterback to just 132 yards and an interception. The Wildcats probably didn’t feel the need to throw since they were gashing the Gamecocks with their rushing attack.
This is still noteworthy, considering the Tigers have one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Drew Lock. Lock is coming off his worst game of the season, throwing 221 yards and an interception against Georgia two weeks ago. He can’t have another game like that if Mizzou wants to earn a W in this one.
This is another reason why getting the run game going is important because if the Gamecocks can get to Drew Lock and make him uncomfortable, the Tigers could be in for a long day. The good news, however, is that the Gamecocks did not notch a sack last week against Kentucky. Hopefully Lock is just as lucky.
