It’s week five in the NFL and that means we’re five weeks into fantasy football season! Who should you start and who should you sit in this week’s slate of games?

It’s hard to believe, but the NFL season is already five weeks in and that likely means you have a pretty good idea as to what your fantasy football team is capable of. Last week was the beginning of bye weeks, so make sure you’re paying attention to when your players are on byes and be sure to have reliable subs for them during those off weeks.

All right, as usual, let’s kick things off with my best advice and my worst advice from a week ago. I’m pleased to tell you that it was MOSTLY good! That has to be a first, right?

GOOD ADVICE – STARTING GIOVANI BERNARD (25.6) AND  SITTING BRONCOS D/ST (-2)

  • Matt Ryan did the best out of my featured five last week, but most owners were probably going to start him no matter what, so I’ll say my best advice in the starting category was Giovani Bernard.

Bernard had 25 points in ESPN leagues, but Joe Mixon should be back in week five, so Bernard isn’t a given to do well from now on. As for who to sit, sidelining the Denver defense was a smart move, as they recorded negative points against the fiery Chiefs offense.

BAD ADVICE – SITTING MARCUS MARIOTA (30.4)

Well, this is rare, but I gave good advice when it came to who to start last week! All five of my featured starters a week ago scored at least ten points in ESPN leagues. The lone piece of bad advice I gave for week four was to keep Marcus Mariota on the bench.

Mariota ended up with a 30 spot against the Eagles and led his Titans in an incredible comeback. He did well, but you can’t blame me for recommending keeping him on your bench. He hadn’t been anything special throughout the first three weeks.

How will I fare this week? Let’s find out!
