FORMER ROYALS IN 2018 POSTSEASON

LOS ANGELES DODGERS – SCOTT ALEXANDER AND RYAN MADSON

The Dodgers have two former Royals and they’re both relievers. Scott Alexander was one of Kansas City’s best bullpen arms a season ago, but the Royals decided to trade him to Los Angeles in exchange for Trevor Oaks and Erick Mejia. Alexander notched a 3.68 ERA during the regular season in Los Angeles.

Ryan Madson is the other former Royal in LA. Madson was only with the team in 2015, but he was a huge help out of the pen that year and revived his career. He might have struggled in the postseason that year, but Madson did enough that the Oakland Athletics gave him a huge deal that offseason.

Madson was traded to the Nationals midway through the 2017 season and was traded again this year, only to the west coast to help the Dodgers in their quest for a World Series title. He’s had a rough 2018 campaign, finishing his Dodgers regular season with a 6.48 ERA.

Madson was an unexpected name to come in and help the Royals out of the pen in 2015 to help the team win their first World Series in 30 years. Maybe he can do the same for the Dodgers this October.
