Defenses can’t stop Patrick Mahomes, they can only hope to contain him.

Wait until they play a decent defense. Check. Remember that?

There are certainly ways to stop a pocket quarterback, there are also ways to stop a scrambling quarterback. It’s hard doing both at the same time.

That requires one defense for the pocket, one for outside the pocket. More men in the box don’t help, more defenders in the secondary don’t either.

The weapons Mahomes has helps tremendously as well. Who are you double cover? More importantly, who are you leaving open? Don’t forget that running back either, oh, there are at least two of them by the way.

He runs left and passes right, runs right and passes left. He guns it in at over 60 miles per hour, yet has shown the ability to let the ball just float in the air.

Right-handed, left-handed, no handed, it doesn’t matter. 3rd and 30, no big deal, 2nd and one, let’s air it out.

He showed in the Denver game that he has the skills to adjust to what the defense is giving him. He can work around the different disguises and schemes with ease.

Patrick Mahomes is a superstar, that’s why he is your MVP.
