The Kansas City Chiefs are 4-0. Two games up in the West. Through ease and adversity, Patrick Mahomes has shown shades of epic proportions.

Down by 10 points, in Denver, on Monday night, Patrick Mahomes was as cool as a cucumber. He led the Kansas City Chiefs to an unforgettable, insane victory.

The previous three wins on the season appeared easy for Patrick Mahomes. He came out on fire each game and broke records like nobody’s business. Under the lights of Monday night, he faced a different type of animal in a loud, raucous environment.

Von Miller and company made Mahomes look human for the first three quarters, at least statistically. What Mahomes did the rest of the way was absolutely mindblowing.

With 12:47 remaining, down by 10 points, Mahomes made plays. He made emphatic, erratic, and bombastic plays, one after the other.

All the while, he did so by passing for more yards outside of the pocket than anyone for a decade. 192 yards to be exact.

Beat a good defense? Check. A win in a hostile environment? Check. Keep good composure while down in the 4th? Check.

Scrambling to his left, escaping to his right, throwing left-handed with Von Miller hanging off his legs for a 1st down, it didn’t matter. Mahomes made play after play and became superhuman again. The Chiefs won in the final minutes with a run by Kareem Hunt, but it was Mahomes that got them close.

It was probably his worst game statistically, but his best game professionally. The kid has literally done everything his skeptics and critics have challenged him on.

Mahomes has thrown for 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns in the first quarter of this 2018 season. He’s broken some kind of record or set some new standard each game he’s played in.

The Kansas City Chiefs and their fans couldn’t be happier. No.15 has exceeded expectations, which were probably already too lofty.

Chiefs fans young, and old, have never experienced this. The exposure our young quarterback is getting compares to that of Lebron James, or dare I say Michael Jordan or Tom Brady.

It’s all for good reason. He’s answered his haters, he’s proven his supporters correct, and he’s single-handedly, well, now multiple-handedly made Chiefs football great again. And yes, the Chiefs were once great, ask Hank Stram and Len Dawson.

Patrick Mahomes is your 2018 MVP, these five reasons are why.
