Kansas City Chiefs: Good, Bad, Ugly vs Broncos in week 4 of 2018
GOOD: PATRICK MAHOMES
Patrick Mahomes looked human in the first half and was limited against the Broncos, but man oh man were Chiefs fans in for a treat in the second half. I already touched on his left-handed pass, which was insane. Mahomes helped bring this team back down ten points and looked like a legitimate franchise quarterback.
Mahomes finished the night going 28 of 45 for 304 yards, one touchdown, and also rushed for a score in the first half. According to the post game coverage on Scott Van Pelt’s show, Mahomes went 15 of 29 for 151 yards on the first seven drives of the game. He heat up soon enough, going 13 of 16 for 153 yards on the last two drives of the games. Simply electric.
Something that I couldn’t help but think about in this game was how Mahomes has now led the Chiefs to comeback wins against the Broncos twice. Perhaps Broncos fans are now going to experience what Chiefs fans had to deal with with John Elway for all of those years.
We’re four weeks into the season and Patrick Mahomes has appeared on the good section every week in my post game coverage. He’s thrown for 14 touchdowns, rushed for one, and has still yet to throw an interception. Mahomes looks every part of the franchise quarterback the Kansas City Chiefs have been pining for for years.
