Keep an eye on these five storylines as the Kansas State football team takes on the Texas Longhorns on Saturday in Manhattan.

The Kansas State football team is sitting at .500 right now. The Wildcats have struggled all season so far and are gasping for air. This weekend, they’ll be facing a tough, resurgent Texas team that is looking to prove that it is “back.”

Whether or not Texas is really back doesn’t really matter right now. Not in this moment or this game. What does matter is whether or not Kansas State can find a way to get a much needed win to start turning this season around.

Bill Snyder and his Wildcats are floundering a bit. The opening week close game against an FCS opponent wasn’t exactly a great tone setter for this season. That was then followed up by a blowout loss to a physically dominant Mississippi State team, an inconsequential win over UT-San Antonio, and then another blowout loss to an explosive West Virginia team.

Things are kinda bleak at the moment.

A win over a ranked Texas Longhorns football team would definitely boost morale as well as set the tone for the rest of the season. If Snyder and Kansas State are going to turn things around this season, this is a great opportunity to do just that.

This game could mean a lot to the end result of Kansas State’s season.

There’s a few storylines that you’ll need to keep your eye on in this game. Here’s five different storylines to watch out for when the Kansas State Wildcats battle the Texas Longhorns.
