Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams

Leading up to the Week 1 game between the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs, we interviewed one of the writers for Bolt Beat. One thing he had to say was don’t sleep on Mike Williams. He was very adamant about Williams being a breakout player.

Through the first three weeks, former number seven overall pick in the 2017 draft Mike Williams has already surpassed his rookie season performance. With 11 receptions going for 189 yards and three touchdowns, he’s earning his spotlight. He showed off most of his potential against the Los Angeles Rams this past week putting up four catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns.

With Keenan Allen and Melvin Gordon still on the field, defenses are going to have a hard time game planning for Williams. The Chargers have struggled to slow down opposing offenses leaving quarterback Philip Rivers to put the team on his back in the passing attack. Williams should continue to thrive as the Chargers continue to play from behind.
