SEULY MATIAS (OUTFIELDER)

Brewer Hicklen didn’t have to play right field this season because Seuly Matias had it locked down for Lexington and will hopefully be the Royals’ right fielder of the future. Matias was the power guy for the Legends this season, mashing 31 home runs along with 63 RBI.

Matias’ slash line in 2018 was .231/.303/.550 in 338 at bats. His average wasn’t great, but those 31 home runs are obviously eye popping for Royals fans. The big league organization has become more of a power team in the last few years, but that’s not their bread and butter normally.

Matias was the biggest Royals prospect name this year and represented the team in the Futures Game. With right field always being a shaky position for the Kansas City Royals, Matias could be the guy who shores it up in the next few years.

At just 20 years old, Matias still has time to develop, but it’s hard not be excited about what the future has in store for this kid.
