DANIEL LYNCH (PITCHER)

Another first round pick from this most recent draft (albeit supplemental), Daniel Lynch provides yet another reliable arm the Royals could opt to use in the future. Lynch spent his collegiate career pitching for Virginia and is just 21 years old (he’ll be 22 in November).

Lynch spent time with both Lexington and Burlington this season to the tune of a 1.58 ERA between the two franchises. During his time in Lexington, which is where he spent the most time, Lynch threw 40 innings in nine starts with a 5-1 record. He was rock solid as a starter for the Legends.

Lynch was especially good in the strikeout game, striking out 47 batters and only walking six. He was downright excellent in his rookie season as a ball player and the future looks bright for Daniel Lynch as a Royal.

The team has a lot of options for their future rotation, but Lynch could definitely be in the mix to pitch in that rotation. He’s been great so far, but he still has a year or two before he gets his shot in the majors.
