FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS MICHIGAN

NUMBER 1 – WHO IS TAKING THE SNAPS THIS WEEK?

Andrew Bunch wasn’t terrible against Troy, but the two interceptions proved costly, as they normally do. It’s difficult to point all of the blame on a walk-on quarterback, but the difference between Bunch and Adrian Martinez was clear as day.

Obviously Nebraska fans want to see Martinez in uniform this weekend. He’s the mojo behind this offense’s success and we all saw that against Colorado. Martinez apparently practiced all week long and seems to be okay, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he will play.

Parker Gabriel of the Lincoln Journal Star reported that Martinez is really close when it comes to being able to play, so that’s definitely a good thing. Look, it’s nothing against Bunch, but the Huskers definitely have a better chance at competing if Martinez is the one quarterbacking the offense.

"Not surprisingly, the freshman quarterback is making the trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan, with his teammates ahead of Saturday’s game between Nebraska and Michigan, but it’s still not known whether he’ll be available for action."

If Bunch has to play, however, then fans need to realize it’s because Martinez isn’t fully healthy. Why throw him out there if he isn’t good to go? Injuring him further would be one of the worst things that could happen to the Cornhuskers this season.
