FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS MICHIGAN

NUMBER 2 -STOP TURNING THE BALL OVER

Next to special teams, the most cringeworthy part of Nebraska’s play thus far has been their inability to hold onto the football. They had three turnovers in their season opener and had another three against Troy.

Andrew Bunch had two of those three turnovers, throwing two costly interceptions. The other turnover was via tight end Jack Stoll, who had a crucial catch, but then fumbled it. Troy recovered and the momentum was all on their side.

Ball security is obviously important in football and when teams win the turnover battle, they’ll almost always win the game. Nebraska has lost the turnover battle in their first two games and unsurprisingly, they’ve lost their first two games.

Not only is Nebraska turning the pigskin over, but they’re not forcing any turnovers of their own so it’s hard to make up ground there. This is another area that needs to be cleaned up and fast.
