Kansas City Chiefs: Scouting How Beat The Pittsburgh Steelers In Week 2
Hit Big Ben
Once again, this seems like a cliche point to make. Hit the opposing quarterback, and your defense will succeed. I get it. However, Cleveland rattled Big Ben on a consistent basis last week which in turn along with bad weather helped get six turnovers for the Cleveland defense.
While Cleveland has Myles Garrett who looks like he could be an elite generational style of player, the rest of that unit up front is nothing to be scared of. Kansas City might not have Garrett, but their overall front line and edge are better.
Pittsburgh’s offensive line struggled last week against Cleveland, a unit that has been one of the best for many years. The group also suffered an injury as All-Pro guard David DeCastro fractured his hand in the tie to Cleveland. DeCastro is expected to still play against Kansas City, but the damage could limit his production.
The Chiefs need to continue to be creative in their pass rush this week. Not allowing Ben to move the ball quickly, but instead, take the time to find each player before the snap. If Kansas City can generate pressure on a consistent basis, which they did last week against the Chargers despite the one sack, it could be another bad game for Roethlisberger. Most of the defensive front last week looked good forcing holds while still getting pressure.
These are my five ways to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers. Will Kansas City finally overcome their one opponent that seems to have their number continually?
