FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS PURDUE

NUMBER 1 – HEISMAN WATCH

Drew Lock is officially on Heisman Alert! He’s been ELECTRIC this season already compiling 687 yards, eight touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Sure, Lock has faced two teams that aren’t all that menacing, but make no mistake, this kid can play.

Last week against the Cowboys, Lock went 33 of 45 for 398 yards and four touchdowns, but he didn’t just stick to airing it out on Saturday. No, Lock added another 51 yards on five carries and also found the end zone once with his legs.

Lock has done all that’s asked of him in his first two games this season, but the biggest thing to watch with him will be how he looks against tougher opponents. That’s where he and Mizzou as a whole struggled last season and this will be the first Power-5 school the Tigers will face in the 2018 campaign.

Purdue’s secondary has been lousy so far and allowed Eastern Michigan’s quarterback to complete 20 of his 28 passes for 312 yards, one touchdown, and an interception. Lock has to be loving this match-up in his quest for the Heisman Trophy.
