Mizzou football is 2-0 on the year and has blown out both of their opponents so far. Up next are the Purdue Boilermakers of the Big Ten, who are not a good team. The Tigers should roll in this one.

So far, so good for the Missouri Tigers football program, who are 2-0 and have made their opponents look foolish. They walloped Wyoming last week to the tune of 40-13 despite most of their points coming in the second half.

The Tigers hit the road for the first time this season, but it couldn’t come against a team much worse. Purdue is bad, losing their first two games to Northwestern and Eastern Michigan, and looking like a train wreck in the process.

Yes, this game might be on the road, but there is absolutely no reason why Missouri shouldn’t blow the doors off the Boilermakers in week three. Let’s take a look at what to watch for this week.

FIVE THINGS TO WATCH VS PURDUE

NUMBER 5 – TAKE THE BOILERMAKERS OUT OF IT EARLY

This has been something to watch for on each of my previous lists, but it’s important in non-conference games. Missouri can’t afford to let weaker opponents hang around with them for the full four quarters.

Purdue is 0-2, but they’ve lost both games by four points or less. The Tigers should beat them by more than that, but the key to doing that is putting the smackdown on the Boilermakers early on.

Mizzou played great last week, but something they failed to do was put Wyoming away early. In fact, the Cowboys were down by just three after the first quarter and only trailed 16-0 at half time. They were somewhat hanging around as the first half of the game concluded.

While MU held Wyoming to just 13 points, the Cowboys weren’t actually out of the game until the second half when the Tigers finally broke away. Missouri has to take Purdue out of this one in the first half, but considering how close Purdue’s previous two games have been, that might not be as easy of a task as fans are hoping.
