Carolina Panthers Tight End Greg Olsen

Another tight end that suffered an injury was Panthers Greg Olsen. This is another player that owners would be smart to have a serviceable backup for when drafting. If you didn’t draft another solid tight end, you might be in trouble after Olsen injured his foot against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The injury happened when Olsen was running a passing route during the first quarter. It seems that he stepped on the defender’s foot during his route before catching a 19-yard pass. Following the catch, Olsen limped off the field in pain and never returned.

According to Joe Person of The Athletic, Olsen was wearing a walking boot on his right foot and crutches following the game. Considering this is the same foot that Olsen missed most of the 2017 season with, it’s likely he will miss a substantial amount of time this year as well. Keeping in mind that it’s the same foot that he had surgically repaired last season, I wouldn’t expect him back anytime soon.
