The Kansas City Chiefs’ 2018 season begins on Sunday and it could be an interesting one for KC. A new quarterback taking over is reason enough to believe that. Here are some bold predictions for this season.

The Kansas City Chiefs officially begin the 2018 season on Sunday and the hype is through the roof for this team. Having a young quarterback like Patrick Mahomes will do that for a fan base that has been starved for a franchise quarterback to call their own.

With the new season rolling in, it’s time for the annual bold predictions to emerge. These are statements that might surprise some people because they’re out of the norm predictions. Travis Kelce winning MVP or the Chiefs defense being a top five unit would be examples of bold predictions I could give you.

I won’t roll with those because sorry to inform you that neither of those will happen. Here are my bold predictions for the 2018 season.

BOLD PREDICTIONS FOR 2018 SEASON

NUMBER 5 – TRAVIS KELCE HAS DOUBLE DIGIT TOUCHDOWNS

While I don’t think Travis Kelce has any shot to win MVP (tight ends aren’t really who the award was intended for), he does have a very good chance at becoming the best tight end in the league. Some might argue that Kelce has already accomplished that feat, but as long as Rob Gronkowski is healthy, Gronk gets the nod in my opinion.

It shows how good of a player Kelce is when he was able to have two 1,000+ yard seasons with Alex Smith throwing to him. Just IMAGINE how much more involved he’ll be in the game plan with Patrick Mahomes as his quarterback.

To this point in his career, Kelce’s career touchdown total in a season is eight, which he did last year. This year, Kelce should easily get to ten touchdowns, maybe even more. He will be even more fun to watch this year.

Maybe this isn’t really a bold prediction, but Kelce has yet to score double digit touchdowns during his NFL tenure. That means it’s fair game as far as bold predictions go.
