Nebraska football’s original season opener was canceled, so now the Cornhuskers will host their opener against the Colorado Buffaloes. What should fans be watching for?

Nebraska football fans were so excited for last week’s season opener, also known as the beginning of the Scott Frost era, but Mother Nature said “HAHA… Nope!” And forced the Cornhuskers to cancel the game. Now, Nebraska gets a much tougher opponent to open the season: Former Big 12 opponent Colorado, who are 1-0 on the season.

The Buffs handled business against their in-state rival, Colorado State, to the tune of a 45-13 butt whooping. While Nebraska is going to give Colorado a much tougher game, seeing that score shows that the Buffs can hold their own.

As of now, Nebraska is favored, but not by much. It’d have been nice for the Huskers to have their opener against Akron because it would have given them a chance to see what was working and what wasn’t. Now they’ll have to improvise during the game on Saturday.

With last week’s game not being played, some of these entries are similar to what I mentioned last week. Let’s take a look at what Nebraska fans should be keeping an eye on versus Colorado.
