SIT ‘EM – WR

. Wide Receiver. Chiefs. Sammy Watkins. 3. player. 124

The Chiefs are one of the more perplexing teams this year (and yes I’m aware I write for a Kansas City blog) because of their new quarterback. Patrick Mahomes has the ability to be a tremendous quarterback, but he’s played in one regular season game so far.

With this being the first game of the Mahomes era, there are going to be kinks to work out. One of the big storylines over the offseason for the Chiefs (at least for their fans) was the worry over Sammy Watkins and Mahomes not looking to be on the same page in preseason.

Watkins is only 25 years old and is on his third NFL team. He signed a big contract with the Chiefs this offseason, but I don’t like his chances of being an impact player this weekend against the LA Chargers.

Los Angeles’ secondary was electric last year and they only improved there heading into 2018. Mahomes might have a decent opening weekend, but with the many other options the Chiefs have offensively and Watkins’ preseason struggles, the newest Chiefs wideout isn’t a great option to start this week.
