SIT ‘EM

Matt Ryan. 1. player. 44. . Quarterback. Falcons

Matt Ryan was the MVP in 2016, but he had quite the down year in 2017. That’s not to say Ryan was bad, but he wasn’t that same MVP-like player Falcons fans enjoyed watching the year the Dirty Birds went to the Super Bowl.

Ryan isn’t an ideal quarterback option to start this week. For one, the Eagles do have a good defense. While this could be a shootout, it’s also going to be an incredibly difficult environment for a season opener, being on the road in the reigning Super Bowl champ’s house.

Fantasy Pros points out that Ryan didn’t have a three touchdown game all of last year. So if you’re thinking maybe Ryan will be able to put up some numbers, don’t count on it. The Falcons have weapons, but I don’t feel confident starting Matt Ryan this week in a tough road atmosphere.
