Week 8 – Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos (Leigh)

The Chiefs will be done with the Denver Broncos by midseason and the second match-up will come at Arrowhead in week eight. These two teams don’t like each other, but luckily the Chiefs have had the Broncos’ number the last two years and have won their last five games against Denver.

Denver is a hard team to peg. Their defense could be a reason why they end up being sneaky contenders this year, but then you look at their offense and see Case Keenum is quarterbacking the Donkeys. Keenum was great last year in Minnesota, but it says something when the Vikings were so confident in not bringing him back.

The receivers in Denver aren’t great, the offensive line is a nightmare, and the running game is a bit of a mystery as of now. The Broncos have the potential to be a playoff contender or could go 5-11 again in 2018.

The Chiefs should be able to win this one, considering it’s at home and they’re the more talented team, but sometimes a better defense is the key to winning in the NFL. Denver has a much better defense than Kansas City does and that could spell disaster here.

I do, however, think the Chiefs take care of business here, but it won’t be as easy as some might think. The Broncos always put up a fight against their arch AFC West nemesis.

Prediction: This one is too close for comfort, but the Chiefs come away victorious. They beat the Broncos 27-24 on a last second game-winning field goal.

Standout Player: Harrison Butker gets the nod here with his last second heroics. Way to go Butt Kicker!

RECORD: 6-2
