Week 7 – Kansas City Chiefs vs Cincinnati Bengals (Travis)

The Cincinnati Bengals have seen a massive overhaul in their coaching staff this offseason, but they were unable to move on from head coach Marvin Lewis. It’s hard to predict what the offense and defense will look like when both are under new coordinators.

Kansas City fans can relate with Bengals fans as they continue to trot out quarterback Andy Dalton. He’s coming off the worst two seasons of his career since joining the team, and if they can’t move the ball this year, it will be another offensive coordinator out the door.

Even with some talented weapons on offense, the Bengals were the worst offense in the league last season. While some offseason wonders and moves could help, I don’t think the offensive line will be improved enough to handle some packages the Chiefs will use to exploit those weaknesses.

Cincinnati has the weapons on defense to really give Patrick Mahomes some struggles. One of the most talented defensive lines in the league will look to bring the pressure. They also have three solid cornerbacks mixed with safeties like rookie Jessie Bates and Shawn Williams. I fully expect this to be a major defensive showing between both sides.

Prediction: Kansas City barely makes it out of this one with the win. Cincinnati is the perfect team to give the Chiefs an upset, but the defense holds on for 24-18 win.

Standout Player: Eric Berry is the perfect player to mess with Andy Dalton. Given Dalton’s struggles to lead an offense and his reliant on pieces around him, Berry will line up just about everywhere to keep Dalton on his toes. 1 interception and 1 sack.

RECORD: 5-2
