Week 15 – Kansas City Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers (Thursday Night Football) (John)

There’s no scenario that, at first glance, a KC Chiefs fans should be overconfident about this Thursday night game against the Los Angeles Chargers.  The Chiefs will visit Baltimore the Sunday before, and no matter how talented the offensive weapons, the Ravens still have a physical front on both sides of the football.

Combine the travel with then taking on a team that will have hosted what, at least I believe, a bad Bengals team, and the makings are all there for a late season loss at home. It’s bound to happen.

The other question is what will the Chiefs look like this late in the season? Perhaps more to the point, what does Mahomes look like? Has he looked like the quarterback of the future?

Despite sitting for a year, he’s going to have his ups and downs. There will be a game in which he looks like John Elway and there likely is a game in which he’s the second coming of Rick Mirer. Does a short week and a team with tired legs have it in them to win this game?

This is meant half humorously, but without Marcus Peters, will the Chiefs force the turnovers they have in years past (especially against the Chargers)? The defensive backs, save for Kendall Fuller,  have left a lot to be desired and it will be interesting to see what this team looks like come this mid December match up against a Chargers team who could very well win the AFC West.

Prediction: While the Chiefs have shown they can beat the Bolts, I’m going to predict the Chargers in this one. Rivers drives Chargers for a late field goal, Chargers win 30-28.

Standout Player: Spencer Ware comes out to play in this one, rushing for a pair of touchdowns.

RECORD: 10-4
