KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

WHY THEY CAN WIN THE AFC WEST

The Chiefs have a good shot to win the AFC West because well… They’ve been dominant against their divisional foes dating back to 2015. That year saw the Chiefs go 5-1 in the division, 2016 they went a perfect 6-0, and last year went 5-1. That’s a record of 16-2 over the span of three years.

No matter what kind of season the Chiefs are going through, Andy Reid knows how to win against AFC West teams. He’s a better coach than anyone else in the division and that is the biggest advantage a team can have.

The Chiefs have swept the Chargers dating back to 2014, swept the Broncos the last two years, and handled the Raiders since Derek Carr joined them. Reid knows how to beat the teams in the AFC West and that always makes the Chiefs a contender to win the division.

While it helped that Alex Smith had such a good resumé against the AFC West, Patrick Mahomes is still taking the same orders from Andy Reid and that should give him a nice boost against the division.

The biggest reason the Chiefs can win the AFC West for the third straight year is that they’ve done it the last two years.
