Nebraska football will kick off the 2018 season, and the Scott Frost era, this Saturday when they welcome in the Akron Zips to Lincoln. What should Husker fans be keeping an eye on?

College football season is back and Nebraska football fans couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come this season. For one, the Huskers finally have the coach they’ve coveted for so long in Scott Frost, who was hired by the program in December.

Frost brings hype with him to the football program, which hasn’t done much over the last few years. They had the one decent season under Mike Riley, but it was clear that he wasn’t a fit for the program.

Now, we enter the Scott Frost era of Nebraska football and it begins this Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. The Akron Zips of the MAC will be in town and the two schools have played each other in football only once. That came in 1997 when who else but Scott Frost was quarterbacking the offense.

With the first game of the season taking place on Saturday, what should Cornhusker fans be watching for? Let’s take a look.
