Inside Linebacker

Keep: Reggie Ragland, Anthony Hitchens, Ukeme Eligwe, Dorian O’Daniel, Ben Niemann

While the starting inside linebackers looked rusty in their first preseason game action against the Chicago Bears, the team didn’t see it necessary to play them in the final preseason game against the Packers. Instead, Ukeme Eligwe and Dorian O’Daniel saw the starting snaps.

O’Daniel finally showed us a glimpse in what the Chiefs have in the rookie inside linebacker. He hauled in seven tackles and a forced fumble during his one half of play. Eligwe continues to over pursue in the run game and look a bit sloppy, but considering that the team seems to really like the recent draft pick, I have him making the roster.

Terrance Smith is the odd one out unless the team decides to keep six inside linebackers. They very well could if they chose only to keep four outside linebackers, but I think that they need to save that additional roster spot for cornerbacks.
