Tight End

Keep: Travis Kelce, Alex Ellis (Demetrius Harris when he returns from suspension)

It will be interesting to see what Kansas City does with the tight end position. Demetrius Harris will be suspended for the first week of the regular season which means he won’t be taking a spot from the 53-man roster. Could the Chiefs keep both Jace Amaro and Alex Ellis for at least Week 1?

Unfortunately, I see Harris returning following the one-week suspension and don’t see the team keeping three tight ends for just the one game. I think that they use that roster spot in another area to save an additional offensive lineman, running back, or wide receiver for at least one more week.

While Jace Amaro has been getting most of the second team looks during the preseason, I think that Ellis is the man for the job. He is exceptionally athletic and fits what Andy Reid wants to do with the offense. I think the Chiefs go into Week 1 of the regular season with Travis Kelce and Alex Ellis.
