Wide Receiver

Keep: Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Chris Conley, Demarcus Robinson, DeAnthony Thomas, Gehrig Dieter, Byron Pringle

The wide receiver position has been one of the hardest for me to predict once you get past the top four. It’s not often that the Chiefs have such a high number of talented depth at this position. Each prediction article I have made there have been some changes, and this one is no different.

DeAnthony Thomas is not someone I’m willing to bet against another season. He looked good in the game against the Chicago Bears. While he didn’t do much against the Packers, I think that he still has Dave Toub in his corner to keep him on the roster.

Byron Pringle was a receiver that looked fantastic in training camp but then disappeared in the preseason. We just never saw him get many snaps until last night. Going off for four catches and 122 yards while looking like someone the Chiefs could keep around. Unfortunately, he had a hamstring injury on his final reception that could get him on the 53-man roster to put him on Injured Reserve and stash him away for the season.

Gehrig Dieter is still a player that I see making the team. He was limited in his last preseason game on the offense being overthrown on multiple plays and pass interference that wasn’t called. He did, however, look good on special teams once again which is another big reason I have him making this roster.
