FANTASY FOOTBALL DEEP SLEEPERS TO TARGET: NUMBER 9 – CHRIS GODWIN

Chris Godwin actually had respectable numbers a season ago and maybe isn’t as much of a deep sleeper as some of these other guys. Last year, his rookie season, Godwin had 34 receptions for 525 yards and a touchdown.

This year, the Buccaneers will have to roll with Ryan Fitzpatrick for their first few games, but that’s a better backup option than a lot of teams have. When Jameis Winston does return to the field, Godwin should get his fair share of targets.

The Bucs have Mike Evans, DeSean Jackson, O.J. Howard, and Cameron Brate as their main targets, but Godwin will get opportunities. He’s currently the third wide receiver on the team and will get chances out of the slot.

Chris Godwin will be a true boom or bust player. He could very easily be a breakout option, but he also might not get many targets. He is worth a look on the waiver wires.
