FANTASY FOOTBALL DEEP SLEEPERS TO TARGET: NUMBER 2 – WAYNE GALLMAN

The Giants struggled mightily at running back last year and as a result, drafted Saquon Barkley with the second overall pick. Barkley will immediately be the starter and will probably carry that offense in certain games. He’s that talented.

Because of Barkley and the Giants signing Jonathan Stewart, people probably have forgotten about Wayne Gallman. Gallman did okay last year for New York, rushing the ball 111 times for 476 yards. He wasn’t a Pro Bowl talent, but considering what the Giants had on their roster, Gallman was just fine.

Gallman showed some juice in the receiving game last year too, catching 34 passes for 193 yards and finding the end zone once. The ability to both run and catch the ball is what makes Wayne Gallman a worthy deep sleeper candidate.

If you land Barkley or Stewart, Gallman is worth a late draft pickup in case either guy gets injured. That way you have your backup ready to roll.
