POTENTIAL SEPTEMBER CALL-UPS: DONNIE DEWEES

Here is the first guy on the list who is not a current member of the 40-man roster, but could still see some time in the bigs this fall. Donnie Dewees has had a decent year in both Double-A and Triple-A and is a long shot to get a call-up this September.

Between the two affiliates, Dewees has slashed .249/.301/.369 with seven home runs and 49 RBI in 466 at bats. He’s not a game changing player, but he’s shown enough pop so far that he might be worth bringing up to the Major League level.

Dewees has spent the majority of the 2018 season in center field, but could play just about any outfield spot if need be. The Royals are honestly good in the outfielders department right now, so it’s doubtful Dewees actually gets a call-up, but he’s still worth including on this list.

POTENTIAL SEPTEMBER CALL-UPS: SAMIR DUENEZ

Samir Duenez makes this list because he is surprisingly on the Royals 40-man roster. I doubt many Royals fans have heard of Duenez, as the highest level he’s played at this year is Double-A, but he fared decently there, batting .261 in 245 at bats.

Duenez is a left fielder and first baseman and the latter position is what could get him a call-up to Kansas City next month. First base hasn’t been all that consistent for the Royals this year and perhaps Duenez could get some starts there in the final month of the season.
