Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffery

It’s hard to put Alshon Jeffery down as far as 15 on this list. The reason for doing so is that we are still unsure if he will be ready to go week one of the regular season. Jeffery underwent surgery back in February to repair a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder. While he seems to be in line with his recovery timetable, he remains on the PUP list and a question mark to begin the season.

The other question mark to bring up is whether or not Carson Wentz will be fully healthy and ready to go to start off the season. Jeffery was only able to come down with a single catch in the final two weeks of the season when Nick Foles stepped in for Wentz. Without Wentz on the field, I see a decline in Jeffery’s production.

Regardless, Jeffery deserves to be on this list as he had a remarkable season in 2017. Having to come in and prove himself on a one-year deal after leaving Chicago, Jeffery saw 120 targets last season which was his most since 2014 and hauled in nine touchdowns. Those numbers both would likely have gone up if Wentz had been healthy for the entire regular season.

There’s no reason to bet against those numbers going up in 2018 if Wentz and Jeffery both are clear and ready to go come week one. He has the connection with Wentz who enters his third season in the NFL. The question will be, are either of them going to regress from their injuries?
