RANKING EVERY QUARTERBACK ON 2018 SCHEDULE

NUMBER 6 – JIMMY GAROPPOLO

I know I shouldn’t buy into the Jimmy Garoppolo hype, but I can’t help it. He turned a lousy 49ers team into a pretty good team near the end of the 2017 season and that’s reason enough for San Francisco (and anyone else for that matter) to buy in on the Jimmy G hype.

Garoppolo threw for 1,560 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions in his six games as a Niner last year. If Garoppolo plays well, the 49ers have a legit shot at making the playoffs, but if he  disappoints, then the Patriots won again with tricking a team into trading for their backup quarterback.

The Chiefs host the 49ers in week three of the regular season and it’s actually Kansas City’s home opener. This could be a really tough game or could be one that the Chiefs easily win. It really just depends on how Garoppolo plays honestly.

LAST TIME HE FACED KC: SEPTEMBER 29, 2014 (Garoppolo came into the game after Tom Brady was benched on the Monday Night Football bludgeoning of the Patriots. He went six of seven for 70 yards and a touchdown during his limited action that night)
