RANKING EVERY QUARTERBACK ON 2018 SCHEDULE

NUMBER 9 – CASE KEENUM

New to the AFC West this year is Case Keenum, who the Denver Broncos signed during the offseason. Keenum has always been a journeyman in the NFL, spending time with the Texans, Rams, and Vikings.

Keemum had a great year with Minnesota last year, but I’m not buying into him continuing that success in Denver in 2018. He threw for 3,547 yards, 22 touchdowns, and seven interceptions last year with the Vikings, which was easily the best season of his career.

The success of the Broncos this year hinges on how well Case Keenum plays. The Chiefs face them in weeks four and eight, with the road game in Denver coming on Monday Night Football.

The Broncos gave Keenum a three-year contract and obviously have faith in him, but I’m not buying that he’ll replicate his 2017 numbers. That Vikings team had a legitimate defense and Denver’s D isn’t quite what it used to be anymore, meaning Keenum will have to do more on his own.

Oh, not to mention that Broncos offensive line is trash. Keenum is going to have to get rid of the ball quickly or else he’ll be getting pummeled a lot in Denver.

LAST TIME HE FACED KC: OCTOBER 20, 2013 (Keenum went 15 of 25 for 271 yards and a touchdown in his first NFL start. The Texans lost narrowly to the Chiefs, who moved to 7-0 on the year with the win)
