RANKING EVERY QUARTERBACK ON 2018 SCHEDULE

NUMBER 3 – PHILIP RIVERS

As much as Kansas City Chiefs fans don’t want to admit it, Philip Rivers is a good NFL quarterback and continues to stay at the top of his game. Not only is Rivers good, but he somehow has been able to avoid the injury bug that frequently bites the Chargers, starting every game for his team since 2006.

Rivers used to have the Chiefs’ number, but that all changed since Andy Reid has taken over. During Reid’s tenure as Chiefs head coach, the Chiefs have gone 8-2 against Rivers and the Bolts. Not only have the Chargers struggled to beat KC during that time, but Rivers hasn’t been all that impressive.

Last year alone showed how much Rivers has struggled against his AFC West nemesis. He threw ten picks all of last season and six of those came against the Chiefs. SIX!

All in all, Rivers threw for 4,515 yards, 28 touchdowns and ten interceptions. It was his lowest interception total since 2009 where he threw just nine picks all season.

Rivers is nearing the end of his career, but until he shows signs of slowing down, Kansas City Chiefs fans know better than anyone that he’s still a threat under center.

LAST TIME HE FACED KC: DECEMBER 16, 2017 (Rivers completed 20 passes out of 36 attempts for 227 yards, one touchdown, and a whopping three interceptions. Not a good night for Cry Me a Rivers)
