The AFC West continues to be a division impossible to predict. We take a look at how the Kansas City Chiefs stack up against the divisional opponents.

The Kansas City Chiefs did something that hadn’t been done in team history before last year which is winning back to back AFC West Champions. Considering the troubles on defense last season and the switch from Alex Smith to Patrick Mahomes at quarterback, most analysts don’t have Kansas City winning the division in 2018 for a third consecutive season.

There are very few people outside of Kansas City predicting the Chiefs to win the West once again in 2018. Given that Patrick Mahomes is a first-year starter and big unknown, it does bring in some major question marks.

However, given the state of the rest of the AFC West, it’s still a wide-open division. While I believe that Patrick Mahomes will have some growing pains during his first starting season, I also think that he will lead the Chiefs to win the division in 2018.

Every team in the division has its question marks. Kansas City has been great when playing divisional opponents over the last couple of seasons. Switching to a high ceiling quarterback doesn’t change that for me. I want to show you why I believe that Kansas City will top each of the divisional opponents in the upcoming season by showing you that each team has it’s own question marks. Let’s take a look.
