Safeties

Keep: Eric Berry, Daniel Sorensen, Eric Murray, Armani Watts, Leon McQuay

Cut: Jordan Sterns, Otha Peters

Kansas City will have to carry Daniel Sorensen onto the final roster before they can send him to Injured Reserve. Once he is played on IR, the Chiefs will have the option to bring back a previously cut player at another position.

We saw McQuay get time with the starting lineup against Atlanta over Armani Watts. Leon McQuay still fits at the bottom of the depth chart in my opinion. While he has shown some flashes, he has been banged up a lot since being drafted last offseason. It seems that Watts is the future and McQuay/Murray could be the bridge that plays while he develops.

The Chiefs will desperately need Eric Berry to be healthy for the entire season in 2018. Veach has already sent Ron Parker packing and now with Sorensen hurt, the safety position is very limited. Arrion Springs is getting reps with the safeties which shows how desperate they are at the position and that they want the kid on the roster.

The final three roster spots will go to kicker Harrison Butker, punter Dustin Colquitt, and long snapper James Winchester.
