Fantasy Football: Top 15 Rookies to Target in 2018
FANTASY FOOTBALL ROOKIES TO TARGET: NUMBER 8 – MICHAEL GALLUP
Michael Gallup is the perfect example of a boom or bust type of rookie talent. The Dallas Cowboys felt comfortable in his abilities and added him to their roster in the third round of the draft.
The wide receivers in Dallas need to step it up this year with Dez Bryant no longer a Cowboy and they made an effort to fill his shoes with Allen Hurns in free agency. Hurns is likely the number one option with Terrance Williams fighting for that second spot.
Even though Williams will probably be the second string out of the preseason, Michael Gallup has a chance to take that spot. Gallup had over 1,200 yards in both of his seasons at Colorado State and had a total of 21 touchdowns during that time.
Yes, Gallup went to a smaller D1 school, but this kid could be the real deal for the Cowboys. A lot of it hinges on Dak Prescott though. If Prescott plays like he did last year, Gallup might not get the opportunities he deserves. If Prescott plays like he did as a rookie, however, then watch out because Michael Gallup could be the talk of the town in Texas.
Target Gallup in the mid to late rounds of your draft and plan to use him as a bench player to start off. If/when he passes Williams though, that’s when he could become a weekly starting option.
