FANTASY FOOTBALL ROOKIES TO TARGET: NUMBER 9 – CALVIN RIDLEY

We come to the first rookie on here who was a first round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and that’s Calvin Ridley. The Atlanta Falcons added a second Alabama receiver to pair with Julio Jones and it’s safe to say the Birds will be flying this year offensively.

While Ridley has a good shot to be used a lot in Atlanta, Mohamed Sanu might still be looked at as the number two option, which could take targets away from Ridley. Even if that’s the case, however, Ridley should still be a quality bench player and might even be good to use in the FLEX position from time to time.

Ridley had 967 yards with five touchdowns last year during Alabama’s run to the National Championship. Matt Ryan has to be licking his chops knowing he has two electric Crimson Tide wideouts to throw to down the field.

Ridley might not be a starter right off the bat, but he’s definitely an option fantasy owners should keep their eyes on. The Falcons will be throwing the football a lot and Ridley could end up being an explosive option off the bench.
