FANTASY FOOTBALL ROOKIES TO TARGET: NUMBER 11 – CHRISTIAN KIRK

After a stellar junior season at Texas A&M, Christian Kirk opted to forego his senior season and enter the 2018 NFL Draft. He was a second round pick by the Arizona Cardinals and will look to help the Cardinals climb back into relevancy.

The biggest storyline in the Desert is the quarterback situation. It’s likely that Sam Bradford will start there, and if so, that’s a decent match-up for Kirk. Bradford is a good quarterback, but he struggles to stay healthy, and if he goes down, that will push rookie Josh Rosen into the picture.

Kirk was always a force to be reckoned with at Texas A&M. He had 1,000+ yards receiving as a freshman and then had over 900 in both 2016 and 2017. He also hauled in ten touchdowns last year, showcasing him as a red zone target for his new NFL home.

Christian Kirk could very well be a boom or bust type player, but I like the odds of him doing well as a rookie. Obviously Bradford going down and Rosen having to take over could put a damper on his production, but even then, Kirk should be someone worth taking a look at late in the draft. He’ll be competing for catches with Larry Fitzgerald and J.J. Nelson, but could be a breakout candidate this year.
