Again, there were no quarterbacks mentioned on here mainly due to the uncertainty of who will start out of that group.

Even if we knew Baker Mayfield, Josh Rosen, or one of the other rookie quarterbacks were going to start, that’s just not a sexy pick in drafts. Rookie signal callers tend to throw a lot of picks and that’s not a good combination for fantasy football.

Rookie running backs are the safest position for newcomers to the league. We’ve seen Ezekiel Elliott, Kareem Hunt, and Alvin Kamara take the league by storm as rookies and now it’ll be Saquon Barkley’s turn to do just that. Derrius Guice would have been a high entry on here, but he will miss the entire season due to injury.

Rookie wide receivers can either be electric or absolute busts in fantasy football. Calvin Ridley will be a good receiver down the road, but sharing time with Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu doesn’t pave the way for him to be a star in year one.

As for rookie tight ends, I wouldn’t look into drafting many this year. Mike Gesicki could be a decent option, but for the most part, rookie tight ends don’t make a lot of noise.

Some may wonder why there are no Kansas City Chiefs listed here (after all, we are a Kansas City based website). Well, that answer is simple.

There really aren’t any Chiefs rookies that are worth taking this year. The only offensive rookie the Chiefs might have is Darrel Williams out of LSU and if he does make the roster, it won’t be as anything more than a third string running back.

Fantasy football season is here and that’s definitely something to be excited about! Good luck in your fantasy football leagues this year and happy drafting!
