Fantasy Football: Top 15 Running Backs to Target in 2018
Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson
Cardinals running back David Johnson was one of the most significant contributors to my fantasy team in 2016 helping lead me to the win the championship. Unfortunately, Johnson missed just shy of the full season in 2017 injuring his wrist in the first game of the season. Returning fully healthy in 2018, Johnson should pick up right where he left off in 2016.
The Cardinals were one of the worst teams running the ball a season ago with a 3.4 yards per carry average. Johnson will once again have his work cut out for him as he will be running behind a weak offensive line and the offensive will lean on him considering the quarterback position is a complete question mark.
Regardless, Johnson is the staple of this offense in 2018, no offense to Larry Fitzgerald. The entire offense’s success will rely on Johnson and the run game this season with Sam Bradford taking over at quarterback and a rookie quarterback Josh Rosen sitting behind him.
Given Johnson’s versatility in the running and passing game, he is a complete game changer that should be considered with the number one overall pick. He was the top fantasy back in 2016 and considering his injury was a wrist injury last season; I don’t expect there to be any drop off in his game.
