Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott

In just ten games last season, Ezekiel Elliott was able to dominate in the Cowboys offense with 983 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He also added another 269 yards and two scores through the air. While Elliott is not one of the biggest weapons in the passing game, he might be leaned on more to contribute there in 2018 as the receiving weapons are limited in Dallas.

The sole reason that I didn’t put Elliott at the top of this list is the lack of talent at the other playmaking positions. While I’ve always viewed Dez Bryant being a bit overrated, he was the top receiver for many years that defenses had to gameplan for. Even over the last couple of seasons while we saw his numbers decline.

Dallas also lost their Pro Bowl tight end just before the NFL Draft in Jason Witten. Without much left outside of number two receivers at best, defenses will be able to focus primarily on the Cowboys run game. Even behind the top offensive line in football, Elliott is going to have to work even harder this season as defenses will be stacking the box.

Elliott is one of the most consistent point makers in fantasy football every week. He will easily be one of the first picks off the board in most leagues. Given his likely increase in the passing game, watch for Elliott to have a breakout season once again.
