Kansas City Chiefs: 53-man roster predictions following first preseason game
The Kansas City Chiefs released their first unofficial depth chart before the first preseason game. Here’s a final prediction of the 53-man roster.
The Kansas City Chiefs are going to have some tough decisions when it comes time to make the final cuts for the 53-man roster at the end of this preseason. There are numerous positions with significant depth that could make it challenging to make room. Given all of those positions of depth, which groups will be given more room on the depth chart is something that will be a struggle to figure out.
Positions like the wide receiver, running back, offensive line, linebackers, and secondary units all have some good talent that will have to be cut. All of these positions have either veteran experience or young developmental projects which will make it tough for the Chiefs brass to choose where they can allow more room for development.
The Chiefs played their first preseason game last Thursday hosting the Houston Texans which showed how they feel about some players. Seeing some developmental projects getting more starting time with higher groups is something to truly keep an eye on as the preseason continues.
Which of these players will make the most of their opportunities this preseason? Which players will we see take a big step forward to secure a spot on this roster? We take a look at each position and predict what the final roster will look like heading into the regular season.
