Kansas State Football wins in Lincoln

It had been 35 years since the Wildcats left Lincoln with a victory. All of the success that Bill Snyder had, a win against Nebraska in Lincoln had eluded him.

The Wildcats didn’t know what was in store for them later in the season at the time. Sitting at 8-3, many had written the Wildcats off after they lost three in a row earlier in the season. On November 15th they traveled to Nebraska looking for their first victory there in over three decades.

Led by the greatest Wildcat of all time, Darren Sproles, and an electric quarterback in Ell Roberson, the Wildcats not only achieved their goal, but they were near perfect in doing so.

It was an all-around effort by the Wildcats, Roberson scored touchdowns on the ground and through the air. Sproles ran like a maniac, refusing to go down at the first hit. Defense and special teams came up huge with turnovers and a blocked kick. All of this happened in front of one of the most stunned crowds you will ever witness.

Kansas State destroyed Nebraska 38-9. They abused the Cornhuskers in every aspect of the game, collecting another milestone in Bill Snyder’s legacy.
