BYRON PRINGLE

Byron Pringle has the local aspect working for him, but otherwise he’s got his work cut out for him when it comes to making the roster. Pringle is a K-State guy who opted to leave school early and declare for the draft, but went undrafted.

Pringle was one of Kansas State’s best weapons last year, hauling in 30 receptions and 724 yards with six touchdowns. The Wildcats haven’t been much of a passing school as of lately and Pringle still managed to make plays despite catching passes from run-heavy quarterbacks.

Byron Pringle has return game experience too, which could work in his favor. If he could get some opportunities there during the preseason, that might be enough to keep him around. Otherwise, it’s looking bleak for the K-State product.

The good news for Pringle is that he did have a good play on Thursday. He only caught one pass, but it was good for 16 yards and a first down on that riveting fourth quarter drive where the Chiefs  took the game down to the wire. Pringle was targeted another time, but didn’t catch that one.
