FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPERS TO TARGET: NUMBER 7 – SPENCER WARE

The starting running back job job was likely Spencer Ware‘s to lose last year, but a preseason injury sidelined him for the entire season. Kansas City Chiefs fans then watched with excitement as rookie Kareem Hunt took the league by storm.

So yeah, Ware isn’t getting his starting job back, but he’s still a really good option to consider in fantasy football. In 2016, his lone year as the Chiefs starting running back, Ware rushed for 921 yards with three touchdowns while adding another 447 yards through the air and grabbing two more scores.

Hunt is going to be the starter, but the Chiefs have always been good about getting their backups involved in the running game. Assuming Ware is healthy enough, he’ll be given plenty of opportunities to put up fantasy points.

Another key thing with running backs is that they get injured more often than most positions, so if anything happens to Hunt, it’ll be Ware’s time to shine. For those of you who draft Kareem Hunt, take a flier on Spencer Ware later on and that way you’ll be covered should anything happen to Hunt.
